Who we are
The aim of my website is to bring together information and history based on the Amphlett family; not just my direct family but as many strains of the family tree as I can research.
The Amphlett family tree traces the lineage of an old English family whose roots are strongly associated with Worcestershire and the West Midlands. The name Amphlett is believed to derive from a place-name, likely connected to lands historically held by the family near Clent and Halesowen. Over the centuries, the Amphletts became part of the regional gentry, with several members serving as landowners, lawyers, and public officials. One notable branch lived at Clent House, which became closely linked with the family for generations. Through marriages and inheritance, the Amphlett family tree spread into other notable British families, while many descendants continued to live across England. Today, the Amphlett lineage reflects a long history of local influence, traditional landholding, and connections to the social and civic life of the Midlands.
My website aims to research the family history using records for Worcester library, information from locals, bring together research by Monika Carolyn and looking at research already completed by John Amphlett of Clent.
